Wednesday evening is normally our main evening for prayer and Bible study.
Once a fortnight House Groups meet in homes across the parish to study God’s Word, consider how we need to apply our lives to it, pray, and care for each other in ways that aren’t possible in a large Sunday service.
In this way our House Groups aim to follow the example of the early church as described in Acts 2.42-47, as together we seek to be devoted to Scripture, to one another, to meeting in homes and in sharing the gospel.
As well as Wednesday evenings we also have a Thursday daytime group and groups for Cantonese speakers that meet online on Monday or Friday.

Prayer Fellowship
On the alternate Wednesdays to House Group, the whole church is invited to gather together to pray from 8-9pm.
Once a month this takes place in person in the Church Centre, and once a month we meet online.
Occasionally, we dedicate the whole hour to one of our mission links and link up with them online.

Jigsaw
Jigsaw is a weekly Bible study group for women of all ages. It meets every Tuesday morning during term time in the Church Centre.
Coffee is served from 10am; the Bible study is from 10:30-11:30am and there’s a crèche for pre-school children.
Contact the Church Office for more information.

Men's Prayer Breakfast
Normally on the last Saturday of the month, our Men’s Prayer Breakfast is a chance to enjoy a bacon roll and coffee (although pastry and tea are also available!) and pray.
Booking is required, either by using the link in the weekly email or by emailing jon@stjohnshartford.org by 12pm on the Friday before.

Bakes Brews Chat
Bakes, Brews, Chat is the perfect spot for those who love delicious treats, freshly brewed tea & coffee, and engaging conversations! There’s normally a game of something going on too. You’re sure of a warm welcome every Wednesday afternoon between 2pm & 4pm. Come for the bakes, stay for the chats!

Koinonia
If you live on your own but would like to have some company, we would love to invite you along to Koinonia. This group is for men and women, of all ages, who are single, for whatever reason. Koinonia means to share friendship and fellowship together and the group is open to everyone from our community, whether you attend church or not.
Koinonia meet almost every month and have various speakers on a range of topics. These meetings normally take place in St John’s Church Centre, from 3pm to 5pm, on Saturdays. They also go on a number of trips during the year.
For more details about Koinonia, please pick up a programme card in church, send them an email or call the Church Office (01606 872255).

Ladies Fellowship
Ladies Fellowship is a warm and welcoming group where women come together to grow in faith, support one another, and serve the community.
Meeting on Wednesday afternoons there is time to sing, share and hear a talk. Occasionally we also share communion. All women are welcome!

Parkrunners
We are a group from St John’s who meet to run together, mainly at Delamere Parkrun on a Saturday morning.
We are a mix of ages, shapes, sizes and abilities. After running, we enjoy time together in the cafe. You might have seen our orange t-shirts and be wondering what our faith in God and Jesus has to do with running. The Bible uses the idea of running to illustrate what life with God is like.
“Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.”
Hebrews 12:1-2
Our faith in Jesus gives us forgiveness through His death on the cross and, at the end of our race through life, we will receive the prize of eternal life.
To find out more, or to join us on one of our runs, please contact Teresa.
